As a 29-year-old sports lawyer, consultant, entrepreneur and personal branding coach, my journey has been anything but traditional.

BACKGROUND
Born and raised in the Netherlands, Jessie graduated from Tilburg Law School back in 2016 and continued her legal education in Madrid, Rio de Janeiro and Barcelona. Having successfully passed the Spanish bar exam in 2019, she is qualified to represent her client's legal interests before Spanish courts and international tribunals. Her interest in Sports, football in particular, led her to pursue further studies in the field of Sports Law and Management.
Having worked for the strategy & innovation departments of key stakeholders FC Barcelona & UEFA, she has seen the challenges and opportunities that arise while attempting to foster a culture of innovation within more risk-adverse environments first-hand and is experienced in digital transformation strategies, complex stakeholder management, strategic planning, transversal project management, event organisation and developing innovation led strategies for sports brands, clubs and organisations.

She has in-depth knowledge of the governance, management and strategy models of professional football clubs and federations and an all-encompassing understanding of the sports ecosystem from both a legal and business perspective. Due to her international profile and professional experience she has also established a strong network within the industry.

Jessie also has extensive experience lecturing on Sports Law & Management related subjects at a variety of International universities and has launched several digital products such as courses and mentorship programs designed to help aspiring industry professionals kick-start their careers in Sports.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP
In 2020 she co-founded Sensato Sports Law, a boutique Sports law firm specialised in sports-related legal advisory & dispute-resolution services. At the firm she provided legal advice to athletes, intermediaries and clubs primarily regarding contractual matters (employment, representation, transfer, and image rights agreements) and defended her clients’ interests before Spanish courts and (inter)national sports tribunals.

In 2023 she decided to fully dedicate herself to entrepreneurship after resigning from her position as the head of women's football management for FC Barcelona where she was involved in a wide range of both legal and management activities with her duties and responsibilities varying from negotiating new player signings, contract renewals, sponsorship and media activations to overall expenditure control.

Since then, she has enthusiastically pursued her diverse interests and immersed herself in several industries she is deeply passionate about but hadn't explored before due to her laser focus on the football business over the past decade. In the meantime, she co-founded Sunfit, a venture dedicated to promoting wellness through yoga experiences at extraordinary locations. Additionally, she made investments in real estate assets and currently serves as a sports consultant for start-ups seeking strategic business support. Furthermore, she takes on the role of a personal branding coach, empowering individuals to unlock their full potential and propel their careers to new heights.
